PRINCETON, N.J. -- The 2006 Under 23 National Team roster has been set, USRowing announced on Monday. In total, nine crews will represent the United States at the 2006 FISA World Rowing Under 23 Championships scheduled to run July 20-23 in Hazewinkel, Belgium.

The U.S. will have crews competing in the men's single sculls, lightweight women's single sculls, women's pair, men's quadruple sculls, lightweight men's quadruple sculls, lightweight men's four, men's four with coxswain, women's eight, and men's eight.

The 41-person roster includes three members of the 2005 Under 23 National Team, with Stesha Carle being the lone returning medalist. Carle won a gold medal in the women's four last year and will race in the women's pair in Hazewinkel. Alex Hearne will race in the eight this year after competing in the four in 2005, while Max Litt will serve as an alternate after competing in the lightweight four last year. The U.S. won two medals, gold in the women's four and bronze in the women's double sculls, at last year's championships.

In addition, the squad includes two members of the 2005 Senior National Team. Patrick Sullivan won a silver medal in the men's four with coxswain and Chase Phillips coxed the men's pair with coxswain to a bronze medal at the 2005 FISA World Championships in Gifu, Japan.
