MIAMI SHORES, Fla.Paul Mokha has resigned as head womens rowing coach at Barry University, effective at the end of the season, it was announced today by director of athletics, Michael L. Covone.
"After eight years at Barry, I feel the program is set up for continued success," Mokha said. "Therefore it is a good time for me to move on to other challenges. I have coached a lot of great student-athletes in my tenure and will take with me a lot of fond memories."
Mokha has been the Bucs rowing coach since 1998. He led the Bucs to back-to-back Sunshine State Conference championships in 1999 and 2000. The Bucs have advanced to the NCAA National Regatta three times in the last four years, advancing to the grand final in 2005 for the first time.
Since Mokha took over the program, the Bucs have won six CRCA All-America awards, including two-time All-American Meg Denholm who captains this years squad. In addition, the Bucs have produced 10 Scholar All-Americans.
Barry will begin an immediate search for his replacement.
