Chris Peters, most recently Head Women’s Coach at the University of Oregon, has joined San Diego State (SDSU) Men’s Crew this season as Assistant Coach. Peters is an Alumni of SDSU who has worked for such Universities as Colgate, Texas, and UC San Diego prior to taking the Head Coaching position at Oregon.
Peters will assume primary responsibility for Novice Development and Recruitment.
According to Head Coach Zach Johnson, “The addition of Chris’ coaching talents to the program reflects a commitment to strengthen San Diego State Rowing from the Novice level.” Peters joins fellow Assistant Coaches Andy Olson and Jeremy McDonald in the effort.
“Chris Peters is a talented and committed young coach,” according to Matt Pawlak, Club President. He adds, “The SDSU Men’s Crew is laying the groundwork for an ever-stronger team over time and Chris is going to be an important part of our future.”
The Crew trains at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center and on the near-by waters of San Diego Crew Classic course.
