Ed, It is with both sadness and relief that I announce the passing of John B. Fisher. He learned to row at Groton and went on to row lightweights at Yale. After almost 30 yrs of no rowing, he began coaching at West Side Rowing Club in Buffalo, where he coached Masters and served as coach for Canisius College. He taught many college students how to row and inspired older athletes to take up the sport as masters. Off the water, he was known for his work in the toy industry and his philanthropy (as well as making the second tier of Nixon's Enemies List).
Memorial Services for John Fisher: Tuesday September 15 at 4pm, Trinity Episcopal Church, 371 Delaware Ave, Buffalo, NY.
