This dispatch just in from the shores of the Charles:
"Hotly contested races will ensue between the Americans vs. the Canadians…as the Gold medal Men’s eight and 4- are coming this year to Boston for the first time since the mid 1990’s…to take a “victory lap” in front of the rowing community after their world-class performance in Milan and to enter the Champ men’s eight and the Champ men’s four. They will both be seeded after the top 5% and “have a go” at catching the Americans on the clock over the course.
The Canadian women’s eight, bronze medalists from Milan, is returning in 2003, after finishing 2nd to the Americans on the Charles last year. The US women will be eager to power away from their northern foes as a form of vindication from having placed behind them at World’s. The women’s champ 4 from Canada is the reigning HOCR champion and will be defending that honor."
