The 2012 USRowing Masters Head Race National Championship will be held Sunday starting at 8 a.m. on the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio.
Co-hosted by the Cleveland Rowing Foundation, the inaugural regatta includes 28 races in both sweep and sculling boat categories. In total, 128 entries from 40 clubs and 18 states will be competing in Cleveland.
Currently home to the Head of the Cuyahoga, the 4,800-meter course involves strategy, curves, and fun. In addition to five major river turns (including an S-bend), gorgeous views of the Cleveland skyline are situated throughout the course. The river provides competitors with a pictorial history of Cleveland starting at the West Third Street Bridge.
The event will be streamed online at http://www.ustream.tv/usrowing beginning Sunday at 8 a.m. Heat sheets and results can be found at http://www.usrowing.org/Events/MastersHeadRace.aspx.
