Rowing Canada Aviron has included four more crews on its team that will compete at the 2006 World Rowing Championships on August 20 to 27 in Eton, Great Britain. They are the women's heavyweight quadruple scull, the women's heavyweight four, the women's lightweight quadruple scull and the adaptive double.
"The performances of these three crews, along with those of crews previously nominated to the team, will indicate what boat categories Canada will emphasize in the final steps toward the 2008 Olympic Games," said Rowing Canada Aviron High Performance Director Alan Roaf. "RCA is hoping that a broad and deep base of talent will be identified by the conclusion of the 2006 World Championships, and the crews' ability to make the finals will show that the athletes are on track."
