1. 2008 FISA Ordinary Congress in Linz, Austria
This congress took place on Friday, 25 July and the main decisions are summarised as follows:
The next FISA Congress will take place on 31 August 2009 in Poznan, Poland following the 2009 World Rowing Championships. The delegates were reminded to make their booking soon for the 2009 FISA Extraordinary Congress to take place from 13 to 15 February 2009 in Cape Town, South Africa.
2. Compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code
FISA is a stakeholder in the success of the World Anti-Doping Code which is administered by the World Anti-Doping Agency. As a signatory organisation of the Olympic Movement, FISA has committed to certain roles and responsibilities, including adopting and implementing anti-doping policies and rules which conform with the World Anti-Doping Code.
Another of FISA's responsibilities is to require as a condition of membership that the policies, rules and programmes of our member National Federations are in compliance with the WADC. And, to withhold some or all funding to its member National Federations that are not in compliance with the Code.
FISA has been asked to confirm that its member national federations are in compliance with the WADC. Would you please complete the attached form confirming that your national rowing federation has established policies, rules and programmes that are in compliance with the WADC and return it to FISA by 15 September 2008. 3. 2008 FISA Youth Coaches Conference
This conference takes place in Singapore from 17 to 19 October 2007. Themes of this year's conference "Developing Rowing Talent towards 2010" and "Preparing our rowers for the Youth Olympics". Information can be obtained from the

4. 2008 World Rowing Coaches Conference

5. Appointment of New Commission Member to fill a Casual Vacancy
The Council has appointed Guin Batten of Great Britain of the Athletes Commission to fill a casual vacancy in the Youth Rowing Commission.
