WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - Three crews met the time standard Saturday to conclude the 2007 World Championship Trials at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The men's eight, lightweight men's eight and men's four earned national team berths. In total, 22 crews will represent the United States at the 2007 FISA World Rowing Championships August 26-September 2 in Munich, Germany.
The Caspersen Training Center crew of coxswain Marcus McElhenney, Dan Walsh, Steve Coppola, Josh Inman, Brett Newlin, Pat O'Dunne, Wyatt Allen, Brody Buckland and Alex Hearne clocked a 5:32.07 in the time trial of the men's eight to meet the time standard.
In the lightweight men's eight, Riverside Boat Club finished with a time of 5:40.70. The crew of coxswain Leigh Heymann, Will Daly, John Nichols, Andrew Diebold, Jeff Forrester, Greg Ruckman, Tyler Resch, Gavin Frase and Tim Larson met the time standard to qualify for the world championships.
The Caspersen Training Center crew of Beau Hoopman, Bryan Volpenhein, Giuseppe Lanzone and Matt Schnobrich clocked a 5:55.89 in the time trial of the men's four to qualify.
Princeton Training Center's Warren Anderson, racing in the time trial of the men's single sculls, finished short of the time standard in a 7:02.53.
