After yesterday's semi-finals, Canada's team had a much lighter racing day at the 2003 World Rowing Championships in Milan, Italy today.
Canadian crews were in two races - a B and C final. Iain Brambell of Brentwood Bay, B.C. and Chris Davidson of Oakville, Ont. were first in the B final of the lightweight men’s pair, and finish seventh overall.
"They finished off this regatta with a good row," said lightweight coach Terry Paul. "After a pretty tough repechage race earlier in the week, today they attacked all the way down the course and were a good length up on Portugal." Canada’s time was 6:46.84.
Jeff Bujas of Grimsby, Ont. and Matt Jensen of Innerkip, Ont. finished 18th overall after coming in sixth in today's C final race of the lightweight men’s double.
Tomorrow, Canada has a chance at medals in six events - the women's four, men's coxed pair, women's lightweight single, men's and women's pair, and the men's four.
