INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 2005 Adaptive National Team roster has been set, USRowing announced on Monday. The U.S. will send two boats to compete in adaptive events at the 2005 FISA World Rowing Championships scheduled to run August 28-September 4 in Gifu, Japan.
The 2005 squad is a veteran group. The double sculls tandem of Scott Brown and Angela Madsen returns to defend its world championship title. Brown, from the Philadelphia Rowing Program for the Disabled, and Madsen, from Long Beach Rowing Association, won the event at both the 2003 and 2004 world championships. Both rowers have been on the adaptive team since 2002. Long Beach's Ron Harvey will race in the men's single sculls. Harvey won a bronze medal in the event at last year's world championships.
