"We did what we could. We moved up from fifth position, it was exciting - like riding a roller coaster. The conditions on the course picked up. I am glad we got the opportunity to race at USRowing Nationals, it helped prepare us for this. The race itself wasn't as decisive as it was in the heat, it was really competitive. Boats would move on us, and we would make a move back and still try to stay focus on the interior. We sprinted the last 500 meters. Everybody out there was really high-caliber."
Esther Lofgren, women's quadruple sculls
"It was one of the best races I've ever watched. There were six good boats and they should feel happy with the result. This summer was a great camp for all the Under 23 team."
Melanie Onufreiff, women's quadruple sculls coach
"It wasn't pretty, but it was fun. We came in not really expecting anything and today was an awesome experience."
Gevvie Stone, women's quadruple sculls
"Obviously, it was a huge disappointment. Our goal was to go out really aggressive, but the tailwind was good for other crews and bad for us. I don't regret the summer, though. I learned a lot and got some great experience and coaching."
Silas Stafford, men's eight
"The conditions were tough. It was a really close race, down to the last stretch. We didn't finish as well as expected. We rowed aggressively and made improvements from the heat. Our goal was to go out harder in the first 500 meters, which I feel like we did. It was a little disappointing, but I hope to improve in the years to come."
Mark Murphy, men's eight
"We came out of the start how we wanted to. The chop was heavy. Both of our key moves were effective, I just feel like we ran out of course at the end."
Tom Peszek, men's eight
"There was a pretty stiff tailwind, we had to really go after it. It was like we were going hard, but didn't get traction with the wind blowing us around. It never completely came together. Hopefully, I will take this experience back to school with me."
Alex Osbourne, men's eight
"It was quite a heater, with all four crews pretty tight. I think the guys rowed aggressively even if the result wasn't what they wanted. We had a great bunch of guys at camp this year, they all have the potential to be on the senior team."
Topher Bordeau, men's eight
"The end result was a little disappointing. After the win in the eight last year, the bar was set pretty high. At the same time, I feel like we were successful in terms of accomplishing the goals of the camp, which was to win two medals. Belarus and Germany earned it."
Dave O'Neill, women's eight
"It was a good race, but a little bittersweet. I am excited and happy to medal, but after putting in all that hard work, you end up feeling like you deserve more. We got beat by better crews. We made our moves where we planned, today just wasn't our day. There were a couple of us in the boat from last year."
Megan Smith, women's eight
"The Germans jumped out really fast, we knew we had to keep pushing. We did what we could do, but they came out on top."
Elle Logan, women's eight
"The conditions were better at the start and worsened down the course. We fought the whole way through, it was a really good effort."
Suzanne Van Fleet, women's eight
"I think we were all a little disappointed. We have learned a lot and developed into really good rowers over the camp."
Jamie Redman, women's eight
