Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) and Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. are pleased to announce a four-year partnership that will benefit not only RCA's National Rowing Team that brought home four medals from the 2008 Olympic Summer Games, but also its 116 registered rowing clubs across Canada.
"We are striving to develop support for both our High Performance and our Domestic Competition operations. This new partnership with Yamaha will result in real savings for the National Team preparing for the 2012 Games in London and savings for those at the grass-roots level of our member clubs," says John Lehnen, VP Marketing for RCA.
Outboard engines for coach and safety boats are vital to any rowing club's operations. Yamaha Motor Canada, the "Official Engine Supplier of RCA," will provide discounts on new motors when ordered through the Toronto sales office and then delivered to each club's nearest Yamaha dealer. Discounts will apply to any engines within the Yamaha outboard line and vary by engine model.
"We're really excited to be affiliated with the RCA," says Yamaha Motor Canada's National Marketing Manager, Tim Kennedy. "It's always great to expand into new waters, pardon the pun, and support Canadian athletes at the same time."
Rowing Canada Aviron is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Government of Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in Canada. RCA represents 15,000 registered members at all levels, novices, juniors, students, seniors and masters, whether they row for recreation, health and fitness or competition.
