PRINCETON, N.J. - The United States Rowing Association today announced the 59-member 2014 Under 23 National Team that will compete at the upcoming 2014 World Rowing Under 23 Championships from July 23-27, in Varese, Italy.
The five-day competition will feature U.S. crews in 20 events including the men’s and women’s single sculls, lightweight men’s and women’s single sculls, men’s and women’s double sculls, lightweight men’s and women’s double sculls, men’s and women’s quadruple sculls, lightweight women’s quadruple sculls, men’s and women’s pair, lightweight men’s pair, men’s and women’s four, lightweight men’s four, men’s four with coxswain, and men’s and women’s eight.
Thirteen athletes return from the 2013 Under 23 National Team including lightweight single sculler Andrew Campbell (New Canaan, Conn.), who won the first-ever under 23 gold medal for the U.S. in the event, and three members of the women’s eight that won gold - Erin Boxberger (Overland Park, Kan.), Anne Rauschert (Bushnell, Ill.) and Corinne Schoeller (Palm Beach, Fla.). The U.S. also won silver in the men’s eight and bronze in the men’s four at the 2013 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Linz, Austria.
