I learned from Chris Modlin that Jack Sholl passed away on in the early morning of May 18, peacefully and in his sleep with his wife and son by his side. Jack served in WWII, rowed at the University of Washington after serving, and most recently was a member of the Golden Eight as well as an extremely well-known and well-liked member of the international masters rowing community.
Here is a short feature we did about Jack and his rowing partner Erich Heiblich back in 2006.
A memorial service is planned for the fall; our condolences to Jack's friends and family, and here's to a life very well lived.
