If your rowing club is going to be in the market for an 8+ over the next few months, you'll want to talk to the guys over at Quantum Racing before you decide on your brand of choice. What's in store at Quantum is a fast, stable, durable, and reliable 8+ that was readily accepted by elite clubs in the early 2000's. Everyone who rowed this boat loved it, and judging by the flood of interest coming into Camp Quantum, everyone is preparing to love it all over again. The first shells will be ready in September.
In Quantum Racing's first year, crews who switched to the King design accomplished some impressive victories, including an IRA National Championship. Over the following two years, 57 high schools, colleges, and clubs decided to increase their fleets, some with multiple Quantum Racing shells, based on the immediate satisfaction and success delivered in King's hulls. Multiple national and state titles have since been won in the Quantum/King designs, by scholastic and collegiate clubs alike.
"Quality of design and construction materials are two things that I will not compromise on when I build my boats," says Graeme King, head engineer and hull designer of Quantum Racing Shells. "I just don't like disposable boats. That's why I am using my same meticulous approach in this effort, including the exact same below the waterline hull design that we used in the early 2000's. I am surrounded by the same engineers that built the first boats and we are not budging one bit on the attention to details that made Quantum the well respected shell that it is--some used by the same clubs ten years after we first built them. It's very exciting to see these great boats take shape once again."
