"This will be my first experience as High Performance Director for Rowing Canada at a World Cup and I am excited to see the team shaping up for 2009," said Peter Cookson. "World Cup 1 is a great opportunity for our athletes to show the benefits of a hard winter-training program. … The team is a mixture of experience and youth, and I am looking forward to seeing some good results this early in the season."
