PRINCETON, N.J. - USRowing has invited five collegiate rowers to attend its 2010 Men's National Team Freshman Camp this summer, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The USRowing Men's Freshman Camp is for athletes with elite level potential and aspirations, but who have only one or perhaps two years of collegiate rowing experience. The goal is to expose the athlete to national team training 2-3 times per day, row in all boat categories, learn technical and physiological basics, and train with athletes of a similar caliber. This camp is for the young athlete that has physiological potential and the desire to learn more about the national team.
The USRowing Men's Freshman Camp will be held June 9-18 in Oklahoma City, Okla. USRowing coaches John Parker and Jeremy Ivey will run the camp, which will utilize Dartfish Video Analysis (with video to take home), BioRow Visual Immediate Feedback System (virtual reality goggles for rowing), and physiological testing (lactate testing, among others).
