Update Saturday 7am: As of Sunday morning, obviously the lockdown in Boston has ended. School, university, and team operations will start to return to normal soon; I will update the list of known affected events below as information becomes available.
Updated April 20, 2am:
At this writing, a number of regattas in Boston or involving crews based in Boston are likely to be cancelled or postponed due to the events surrounding and following the Marathon on Monday.
At present, many Boston-area schools have cancelled all home events, and additionally have suspended of postponed all team travel today.
I will do my best to maintain an updated list of affected events here as I learn about them, but given the nature of the situation, the fact that some institutions are completely shut down and are not putting out much information, and other issues given the nature of the events I am sure I don't have to explain here, it is not a given that row2k will be able to keep a live tally of affected events. For now, a fair assumption is that events involving Boston teams may not happen right away, or at least that those teams will not participate.
For breaking information, I suggest you stay in touch with the specific team for which you need information by checking their Web site, social media feeds, or other reliable methods.
Please forward any important information to row2k here; it would be best if these communications are limited to official representatives, or at least are not thought to be rumors in the least. I hope that makes sense.
Most of these reflect only partial information, and any or all are subject to change !
New information is coming out at 7:15pm that some races on the Charles may be run tomorrow; decision to be made around 9pm.
The following events we know were to be raced in Boston, so although I do not have specific information at this time, you should assume a change of date or venue at the very least, if not cancellation.
