Press release - Boathouse Sports, the exclusive supplier and outfitter for the US National Rowing Team, today revealed its new Training Center collection. All styles were custom designed for the athletes who are preparing for the 2012 Olympic Games at USRowing's Training Centers (Chula Vista, CA; Oklahoma City, OK and Princeton, NJ). The athletes will be receiving a full complement of custom sublimated unisuits, training tanks and shorts. In addition, off-water items such as polo's, fleece hoods and pants, and a soft shell vest incorporate the sublimated design elements of the unisuits.
"The women's design features fluid lines inspired by the ripples created as the boat glides through the water, capturing the powerful elegance of the female rower. The dominant light blue color is a nod to the rower's environment, water and sky," said Andrea Engel, Director of Product Development at Boathouse.
"The men's design features vibrant strokes of color with twisting, overlapping lines inspired by the rowers themselves who work in unison to move the boat," said Engel. "The design invokes the sense of movement and speed as the boats travel through the water."
"The new unisuit design really sets us apart from other teams," said Beijing Olympian and five-time national team member Giuseppe Lanzone. "These are the unisuits that we race in, but they're also the ones we wear everyday in training. They're durable and comfortable."
