Commissioner of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC®) Phil Buttafuoco announced today that the Conference has reached an agreement with WinTech Racing to become an ECAC Rowing Championship Patron of the 103rd Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championships. The 2005 IRA National Championships will be held June 2-4 on the Cooper River in Camden County, New Jersey.
WinTech Racing will have on-site access to all five 2005 ECAC regattas, media inventory, promotional opportunities at the IRA regatta, and marketing rights to the ECAC Rowing marks.
"The ECAC is pleased to welcome WinTech Racing as the newest member of the ECAC Corporate Partner Program," said Buttafuoco. "An innovator of the manufacturing, sale and servicing of racing shells, WinTechs support of the IRA National Championships will help preserve the rich tradition of this elite competition."
"We rely on generous contributions from outside sources to host five regattas each spring," said Gary Caldwell, director of ECAC Rowing. "We are grateful for WinTechs involvement as its support will enhance the championship experience for more than 60 colleges and universities from across the country and for more than 7,000 spectators."
"WinTech is dedicated to the advancement and promotion of rowing," said Drew Harrison, president of WinTech Racing. "Partnering with the ECAC to sustain these historic races is our responsibility to the rowing community, a responsibility we take seriously."
