West Windsor, NJ ? Over 2300 High School athletes are scheduled to race in the 2013 Mercer Lake Sprints which will be held on April 19 and 20, 2013, on Mercer Lake in the Richard J. Coffee Mercer County Park. This year 60 teams including teams from throughout the mid-Atlantic and New England states will descend on the lake for the first major rowing regatta of the 2013 season to be held on Mercer Lake. There will be 36 different events contested during the Regatta which will begin at 5:00 pm of Friday and continue all day on Saturday. The local area will be represented by teams from the Hun School, Lawrenceville School, Peddie School and the Mercer Junior Rowing Club.
?The Princeton National Rowing Association is pleased to host the Mercer Lake Sprints again this year? said Kristopher Grudt, Executive Director of the Princeton National Rowing Association. ?The Mercer Lake rowing venue in Mercer County Park is recognized as one of the premiere rowing venues in the country and this regatta provides an opportunity for the junior athletes to compete on the race course that has hosted the N.C.A.A. Women?s Rowing Championship and the United States Olympic Rowing Team Trials. We are expecting about 10,000 athletes, coaches and spectators to visit Mercer County Park during the regatta.?
