Improved Weigh-In Schedule
HOCR Weigh-in schedule for lightweights will be shortened to 1 hour on Friday and 1 hour on Saturday. Weigh-in will consist of weighing 2 members from each crew chosen at random upon arrival to the Weigh-in tent.
Launching activity improved
A new launch site for crews is in the planning stages downriver for 2017, giving crews the option to Launch at the new Embankment Concourse site being installed with new docks on the Cambridge shoreline between the DeWolfe (BU) and Pierce (MIT) Boathouses. State Police will close down 2 inbound lanes of Memorial Drive between Vassar St and Harvard Bridge, making room there for launching & rigging. Early subscribers to this new site include UMass, Cornell and Bates. Total capacity is estimated at 40 trailers.
Entry Process Update
Crews who are supported by launch dogs will be given preferential treatment in the 2017 HOCR Lottery. Entry applications must be accompanied by photos and bio of launch dogs which can be uploaded through the RegattaCentral registration form.
2016 HOCR Results
HOCR is investigating potential 'meddling' in the results of the 2016 Regatta. A full report of the investigation will be disclosed prior to opening of Standard Registration via Wikileaks.
HOCR Umpires
HOCR Umpires will undergo background checks prior to 2017 Regatta to ensure that penalties and results will not be influenced by outside forces.
