Boathouse Sports is set to unveil their design this week for the unisuit that team USA will race for Olympic gold in this summer in the London Games.
Comic fans and people that saw last summer's blockbuster film, Captain America, will be excited to learn that the unisuits will heavily borrow design elements from Steve Rogers' uniform modeled after the American flag. Boathouse Sports describes the unisuits as "the most advanced rowing uniform system ever created." They feature advanced stitching for a more natural and comfortable fit, as well as being more aerodynamic, lighter, and feature a revolutionary new internal cooling system.
The prototype unisuits were tested at the 2011 World Championships and received favorable from the athletes. Sam Stitt of the men's quad said, "Being a HUGE Captain America fan I obviously love how they look, but there is so much more to them than just the cosmetics. I have no doubt that this unisuit is the fastest ever created, and the USA is proud to be wearing them in London. I'm just a little disappointed that they didn't incorporate the Captain's shield too!"
