Notice is hereby given that the 2012 Ordinary Congress of FISA will be held at 18:00 hrs on 17 August 2012 at the International Congress Center in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Registration begins at 17:00 hrs.

Please note:
a) Any federation wishing to submit an additional agenda item or a specific proposal for inclusion in the Agenda must do so in written form in English and/or French, along with the reasons for the proposal, to be received at FISA Headquarters in Lausanne no later than 18:00 hrs CET on 17 June 2012. b) The Congress will attribute the 2015 World Rowing Under 23 Championships and the 2016 World Rowing Senior and Junior Championships. The deadline for the candidates competing for the honour and responsibility of hosting these championships to submit their final documents is 31 May 2012.
The Council will carefully study the bidding documents and announce its choices by the beginning of July to be presented for a vote of ratification by the Congress.
c) Federations are requested to advise FISA of the names of their delegates attending the Congress by using the "Congress Attendance Form". Forms are to be received no later than 17 July 2012. The form is available here.
d) A special subject of this congress will be the race distance for Adaptive Rowing. There will be a proposal to move the distance for the 2013 and 2014 World Rowing Championships to 2'000 metres from 1'000 metres which is a FISA Council decision governed by the Bye-Laws. The Council would like to have the view of the Congress before taking this decision. Reports are being prepared on any medical and engineering issues that will be presented. This is in advance of a proposal for changing the Paralympic regatta distance to 2'000 from 1'000 metres which is a FISA Congress decision governed by the Rules and will be discussed at the Extraordinary Congress in February 2013. Specific discussion papers will be prepared and presented in advance of this year's Congress.
