Cambridge take on a strong German eight on the Tideway this weekend (Sunday 13 March) as their final race fixture before The Boat Race.
Cambridge have had strong German links for many years now. Four of the eight oarsmen in their Blue Boat for the 2005 Race are either German or have German heritage.
Bernd Heidicker, who will stroke the Cambridge eight at the weekend and Sebastian Schulte, were both part of Germany's Olympic team for the 2004 Games in Athens.
Tom James, in the seven seat, and Henry Adams are both GB internationals. James stroked the British eight at the 2004 Olympic Games. Adams is coming back into the sport after his promising international career was curtailed by a serious back injury.
