PRINCETON, N.J. - USRowing, the national governing body of the sport, announced that it is commencing a search for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the next stage of the Company's growth. Current CEO Glenn Merry will step down on April 15, 2017.
To assist in the search process, the USRowing Board has established a CEO search committee including Board members and distinguished members of the rowing community. The search committee will evaluate and interview candidates, and recommend the two to four finalists to the Board of Directors for their review. The Board will make the CEO appointment. The successful applicant will assume the leadership of a national organization with an annual budget of $11M+, approximately 50 employees, 500 referees, and 3,000 volunteers; and is committed to delivering value to more than 93,000 individual and 1,350 organizational members, developing excellence at all competitive levels, and supporting the growth of the sport of rowing.

Search Committee Bios:
David Banks (Rocky Hill, NJ) is currently Development Associate at New Brunswick Development Corporation. He is the Male Athlete Representative on USRowing's Board of Directors. David played basketball and ran track while at Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, MD. He began rowing as a walk-on as a freshman at Stanford University in 2001 and earned an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies and a graduate degree in Construction Management. Banks is a two-time Olympian and a five-time national team athlete.
Christopher Chase (Saratoga Springs, NY) is the founder of and still coaching for the Saratoga Rowing Association, where he is also the Regatta and Camp Director. He is a former, 16-year Chairman of the New York State Scholastic Rowing Association, a USRA Youth Committee member for many years, member of the USRA Growth Committee, and also sits on the Stotesbury Rules Committee.
Charles Hamlin (Bellingham, WA) is the Executive Director of the National Rowing Foundation. Mr. Hamlin has been an active and competitive member of the rowing community for nearly four decades. He is a three-time national team member and a member of the 1968 Olympic team, and a successful masters oarsman here and in Europe. He has been a board member of the Norwalk River Rowing Association, Upper Thames Rowing Club (UK), and Cambridge Boat Club. He rowed at Harvard College, where he received his BA, and at the Harvard Business School.
Marcia Hooper (Dedham, MA) is currently President of HooperLewis, LLC, an entrepreneurial consulting and angel investing firm. She also serves as Senior Advisor to Bowside Capital, a private equity firm. She is co-Chair of the National Rowing Foundation and serves as a Managing Director and Board Member of the Head of the Charles Regatta. She is President of the Friends of Brown Women's Crew and serves on Brown University's President's Advisory Council on Athletics. She began rowing at Brown and continues to row as a Master at the Cambridge Boat Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Bonnie Mueller (Philadelphia, PA) is currently a Senior Principal at Korn Ferry, the global leader in talent development and executive search consulting. During her 25 years there, she has focused primarily on executive development and succession management through partnership with top teams and boards. A collegiate rower at St. Joseph's University, she remains an active rower on Boathouse Row where she serves as Board Member at Pennsylvania Barge Club, Vice-Commodore of the Schuylkill Navy, and Director of The Stotesbury Cup & Philadelphia Youth Regattas.
Lisa Stone (Newton, MA) is the long-time Head Coach at the Winsor School and a coach with Charles River Scullers. She is the Northeast Region Representative on USRowing's Board of Directors. Lisa has been active as both an athlete, coach, member, and on the boards of many rowing organization on both coasts including Lake Merritt RC, Piedmont High School, UC Berkeley, Long Beach Rowing Association, Radcliffe College, Cambridge Boat Club, and CRASH-B Sprints. She is an Olympian (1976) and a Women's 2x two-time World Championship bronze medalist.
Sheila Parker Tolle (Menlo Park, CA) is currently Principal at Tolle Marketing Consultancy. She is the Southwest Region Representative and Interim Treasurer on USRowing's Board of Directors, a USRowing referee since 1980, a FISA referee for 13 years, and on the Board of Directors for Norcal Crew and Friends of UCLA Men's Rowing. She was a coxswain at both UCLA, where she received her BS in Engineering and Harvard Business School.
Brad Whitehead (Cleveland, Ohio) is President of the Fund for Our Economic Future, a philanthropic collaboration working to improve the economic competitiveness of Northeast Ohio. Before that, he spent twenty years at McKinsey & Company, where he was a Senior Partner. Brad rowed Heavyweight Crew at Harvard, where he received his AB in Economics and Anthropology. He has continued to compete nationally and internationally in both sculling and sweep Masters events. Brad co-founded CMSD Rows, an urban rowing initiative in Cleveland.
Peter Zandbergen (Omaha, NE) is an Executive Vice-President at Union Bank and Trust Company. He has served on numerous local Omaha boards, state of Nebraska boards, and national boards, as well as international Olympic sports commissions. Peter was a founding member of the University of Nebraska crew program, a co-founder and coach of Nebraska's women's team, team manager for the USRowing national team ('80, '84, '88), president of the USRowing Board of Directors (1988-1992), and a current National Rowing Foundation Trustee. He has over 40 years as a member of the national and international referee corps, including being the US Referee at the 1996 Olympic Games.
