Dear Friends of NRF:
As many of you have heard, Hart Perry passed away on February 3, 2011. Hart was an extraordinary force in rowing. His love for our sport and his dedication to helping athletes realize their dreams made a big impact on many lives, whether at Kent School, Coast Guard Academy, USRowing or the National Rowing Foundation. Over the past two decades, Hart was an unwavering supporter of the National Team, dedicating his time and energy to building the National Rowing Foundation into what it is today - an enduring base of supporters helping athletes realize their dreams of racing and competing at the highest levels.
Many of you have contacted the NRF about how to honor Hart.
First, we want to let you know that a Memorial Service is set for Saturday, April 16 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Chapel, Kent School, Kent, CT. The rowing community, Kent School alumni, Kent School, faculty, and associates are invited to attend this service.
To honor Hart and celebrate his life, and at the request of his family, we are establishing the W. Hart Perry Memorial Endowment at the National Rowing Foundation. Gill Perry has asked that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to this fund. To donate, please send a check to:
National Rowing Foundation
67 Mystic Road
North Stonington, CT 06359
Please indicate that the check should be directed towards the W. Hart Perry Endowment. Alternatively, please click through to our website to make your gift online here.
We are sending this email to our distribution list at the NRF, but we realize that our email list is incomplete. Therefore, we are asking you to forward this email to your network of friends and family that may want to know about the service and about how to honor Hart.
