Oarsman, retired executive, and rowing community member Carlo Zezza has produced a heavily researched, statistics-loaded review of an important issue in rowing in the United States, titled "Boys in a Box: Why our top college crews are rowed by foreigners, Why our men won no medals at the Rio Olympics, and What we can do about it."
Zezza has made it available both as a book on Amazon, and in PDF format on Google Drive:
We are currently (well, for past 18 months) working on a series that will look at many of the issues in Carlo's book, and were going to hold off on posting the book in order to include in the series, but our research merged with current events and erg race coverage to delay the series still again, so waiting any longer didn't make sense. That series should start to post in the next couple weeks.
Zezza is also the author of Winning Head Races, which we reviewed in 2015: Book Review: 'Winning Head Races'
