INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Divisions I, II, and III Rowing Committees announced the 2009 NCAA Divisions I, II and III Women's Rowing Championships will be held May 29-31 at Cooper River Park in Cherry Hill, N.J., and will be hosted by Villanova University.
"The committees are excited about going to Cooper River Park," said Tom Bold, chair of the NCAA Division I Women's Rowing Committee. "It is a tremendous venue for our event. We feel it will give our student-athletes a true championship experience, and we know Villanova is going to do a great job as host."
This is the third time the NCAA Women's Rowing Championships have been held in the state of New Jersey. The championships were held at Cooper River Park in 2000 and at Mercer Lake in West Windsor in 2006.
"It is a privilege for Villanova to serve as host of the 2009 NCAA Rowing Championships," said Villanova director of athletics Vince Nicastro. "The entire rowing community in the region is excited about bringing an event of this stature back to the Northeast. We are looking forward to outstanding competition across all of the divisions, and providing the best possible experience for all of the programs who participate."
