In just three weeks, World Champion rower Jane Rumball raised more than $5500 for the Canadian Cancer Society.
This week, Rumball and Worlds' partner Darcy Marquardt also won the National Rowing Championships in Welland, Ont., adding another medal to a banner year that saw the pair win a World Cup, the World Championships and the Nationals.
Rumball rowed to a third-place finish at this year's Head of the Charles regatta in late October to help promote her "Row Against Cancer" fundraiser. The cause is very close to Rumball - both her parents were diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
"The support that Jane received in such a short amount of time truly shows how fast family and friends can be there for you when they are needed," said Brent DeGraw of Middlesex-London branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.
