Community Rowing, Inc. (CRI) will host the Women's Olympic Great Eight teams from the U.S., Canada and other nations, before they compete in the Head of the Charles this weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21. The Olympians will share their winning experiences and tips for success with young women from the Let's Row Girls and Novice Girls program at CRI. The girls, who will be split into teams with an Olympian instructor for a lesson on how to row like a pro, will then compete against each other in a race on the Charles.
Athletes scheduled to participate include Kim Crow, Australia (Olympic silver and bronze medalist); Mirka Knapova, Czech Republic (Olympic Gold medal); Anna Watkins, Great Britain (Olympic gold) Fie Udby Erichsen, Denmark (Olympic silver); Julia Michalska, Poland (Olympic bronze), Donata Vistartaite, Lithuania (Olympic finalist) and U.S. Olympic gold medalist Esther Lofgren and Olympic finalist Gevvie Stone.
