As most of the rowing community has noticed - well, folks who are inclined to join a very large group to torture themselves on rowing machines together anyway - the C.R.A.S.H.-B world indoor rowing championships are a good two weeks later than usual this year.
Typically held more or less on the second weekend of February (it would have been run on February 15 this year on the old schedule), the event will be run this year on Sunday, March 1. The change was made to reconcile a few different factors, including the fact that many athletes and programs (especially junior athletes) did not feel ready to test at the 2k distance that early, as well as annual conflicts with public school breaks on or around President's Day weekend.
Changes for the event this year include age categories for the growing adaptive/para-rowing events; last year's addition of youth events for 12-13 year olds and a team relay event will continue in 2015.
