While USRowing maintains a strong and long tradition of rewarding excellence in rowing, 2011 marks the first time that the rowing community will be invited to participate by nominating and voting on their favorite athletes and coaches of the year through the inaugural USRowing "Fan's Choice" Awards. Vote now!

MASTERS ROWER OF THE YEAR

Bonnie Allison/Chesapeake Boathouse
Thirty years ago, following a botched back surgery, Bonnie was forced to relearn how to walk. Today, at 69, she stroked a mixed quad and raced at the Masters National Championship in Oklahoma City in a sport she had tried just a few years ago.

Sean Durkin/Potomac Rowing Club
Won five gold medals and one silver medal at Masters Nationals. Captained his team which won the Men’s Point Trophy.

Eve Green/ Saugatuck
Almost 80, Eve is an inspiration to all- a skilled sculler /sweep rower and club communicator, with a focus on safety- she is in great shape and doesn’t miss a race. Took bronze in the E8+ at Masters Nationals.

Anita Sarrett/ Marin
Coxswain who won 4 golds/3 bronze at Masters Nationals, a large contributor to winning the Women’s Points Trophy at Masters Nationals and Gold Rush, and the Club Championship in San Diego.

Wendy Stearns/Sammamish
Ten year rower has continually gained confidence and stepped up this year to stroke Women’s D 8+. After only a few practices won 4 gold medals in 4 entries at NW Regionals.Team captain since 2010.
