COLLEGIATE ROWER OF THE YEAR

Steven Cutler/Princeton
Persevered though ongoing extreme medical issues- Thoracic Outlet Syndrome- and continued to fight for his team, making boats despite his issues and juggling time between practice and hospitals. Placed first (8+) and second (4-) at Elite Nationals, made the U23 team in the LM4-, placed ninth at Worlds.

Greg Flood/Notre Dame
Walk-on rower freshman year,captain senior year, has helped elevate Notre Dame’s stature through testing and fundraising. Fastest collegiate lightweight and fastest American lightweight with a time of 6:12.8.1st Team all ACRA. Bronze Medal in the 8+ at ACRA Champs. Made the U23 team in the LM4-,placed ninth at Worlds.

Mike Gennaro/Syracuse
Student- athlete who was as involved academically and for the community as he was while racing. Stroked Varsity 8+ all season. Team captain. Led team to first appearance in Grand Final at Eastern Sprints in a long time. World Champion in the Men’s 8+ at U23s. Representing USA in the Men’s 2- at Pan Am Games in Mexico.

Kara Kohler/Cal
Varsity 8+ rower at Cal who finished 4th in the Varsity 8+ at NCAAs, Won the Princess Grace Challenge Cup at the 2011 Henley Royal Regatta, Won gold in the Women’s 8+ at Lucerne World Cup. World Champion in the Women’s 4- .

Grace Luczak/Stanford
Varsity 8+ rower at Stanford who won bronze medal in the 8+ at NCAAs, World Champion in the Women’s 2- and Bronze medalist in Women’s 8+ at U23s.
