Ken Jurkowski, the USA M1x, is this week's Crew of the Week

Did your crew or a crew you know of have a great race over the weekend? Nominate them for row2k's new "Crew of the Week" poll. Nominations must be submitted by 5pm EST each Monday. row2k will then select six outstanding crews for poll voting on Tuesday and Wednesday. The crew with the most votes will be recognized as row2k's "Crew of the Week".

Nomination criteria in 50 words or less:

  • Convince row2k that your crew executed an exceptional race or overcame difficult conditions and or opponent to win.
  • row2k will select six crews from the following categories for the poll.
    • College Men's Heavyweight
    • College Women's Openweight
    • College Lightweight
    • Junior
    • Club/Masters/Elite
  • Only a crew's performance during the previous week will be taken into account during selection.
  • Any crew that wins "Crew of the Week" will be exluded for the rest of the season.

    • Winner - USA Men's 1x - Crew of Ken Jurkowski won the final Olympic Qualifer in Ponzan, Poland to qualify himself for the Beijing Olympics.

  • June 10
    • Winner - Wisconsin Men's Heavyweight Varsity 8 - Won the premier event at the IRA for the first time in 18 years. Handed the top-ranked Washington Huskies their first loss since 2006.

  • June 3
    • Winner - USA Men's 4x - Won Lucerne World Cup by defeating the 3-time reigning World Champion Polish 4x. First win for USA 4x in an international event since the Princeton World Cup in 2001.

    • Finalists - E.L. Crossley Boy's Lightweight 4, Stanford Women's Openweight Varsity 8, Trinity Women's Openweight Varsity 8, Washington Women's Openweight Varsity 4, Yale Women's Openweight Varsity 8
  • May 26
    • Winner - Michigan Men's Varsity Heavyweight 8 - Won the inaugural ACRA National Championship by open water to clinch the men's team point trophy.

    • Finalists - Belmont Hill Boys 4s, Mount Saint Joseph Girls Varsity 8, Old Dominion Men's Novice 4, Phillip Exeter Girls, Winter Park Boys Varsity 8
  • May 19
    • Winner - St. Joseph's Prep Boys - Swept all the eights races at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta this weekend for only the second time in the history of the Stotes. The only other time was by St. Joe's Prep in 1997.

    • Finalists - Cornell Men's Lightweight Varsity 8, US Men's Lightweight Double, Washington Men's Varsity Heavyweight 8, Wisconsin Women's Lightweight Varsity 8, Wisconsin Men's Varsity Heavyweight 8
  • May 12
    • Winner - Fordham Men's Lightweight Varsity 8 - Started the season unranked and won the Lightweight 8 event at the Dad Vail regatta as a club team to stay undefeated for the season. The crew also earned an invitation to the IRA.

    • Finalists - Burnt Hills Boys 8, Dowling Women's Openweight 6-seat, Newport Aquatic Center Boys 8, Purdue Men's Varsity Heavyweight 8, Saratoga Girls 8
  • May 5
    • Winner - MIT Men's Varsity 8's - Both lightweight and heavyweight crews knocked off EARC opponents(Penn and Boston U respectively). row2k received several nominations for each crew and no one knew exactly when the last time they had beaten their respective opponent other than it had been a "very long time" for each. row2k has received one response stating that the last MIT heavyweight victory over BU occured in the petite finals of the 1993 IRA.

  • April 28
    • Winner - Saint Joseph's Men's Heavyweight Varsity 8 - Beat Temple by .7 seconds to win the Bergen Cup for the first time since 1978 after finishing 10th the previous week at SIRA. (Temple finished 3rd in the same race)
    • Voting Results
    • Finalists - Ashland RC Men's Pair, Georgetown Men's Varsity Lightweight 8, Lake Brantley Boy's Lightweight 4, Navy Women's Openweight Second Varsity 8, Tufts Women's Openweight Varsity 8
  • April 21
    • Winner - Columbia Men's Varsity Heavyweight 8 - Won the Blackwell Cup by sprinting through #9 Yale for the first time since 1941, and did it at Yale. Then drove to Princeton the next morning to face Navy, and won the Maxwell Stevenson Cup for the first time since 1963.

    • Finalists - Clemson Women's Novice Openweight 8, Delaware Men's Freshmen Lightweight 8, Oregon State Women's Varsity Openweight 8, Rhode Island Women's Varsity Team, Wisconsin Men's Varsity Heavyweight 8
