2013 USRowing Fan's Choice Awards - Collegiate Athlete of the Year

USRowing maintains a strong and long tradition of rewarding excellence in rowing. Following a year of unprecedented achievement, the rowing community has designated strong nominees for the 2013 Fan's Choice Awards which are solely nominated and voted on by rowing fans. Vote now!

COLLEGIATE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Andrew Campbell – Harvard
Sat seven seat in the national champion lightweight men’s eight at Harvard University. Won gold in the lightweight men’s single sculls at the 2013 World Rowing Under 23 Championships. Finished seventh in the lightweight men’s single sculls at the 2013 World Rowing Championships.

Austin Hack – Stanford
As the youngest member of the U.S. Men’s Senior National Team, helped the men’s eight win gold at the 2013 Samsung World Rowing Cup in Lucerne and bronze at the 2013 World Rowing Championships. Stroked Stanford’s men’s varsity eight to a second-place finish at the 2013 PAC 12 Championships and was named the conference’s 2013 Male Athlete of the Year. Won first-team PAC 12 All-Academic awards for the second year in a row.

Henry Hoffstot – Georgetown
Captain and member of the varsity eight at Georgetown. Won the 2013 Henley Royal Regatta Britannia Challenge Cup with Taurus Boat Club. The win marked the first ever victory at Henley Royal Regatta for anyone from Georgetown in the regatta's 174-year history.

Justin Jones – Northeastern
Placed fourth at the 2013 IRAs, finishing less than a half second off silver. Competed in the final of the Ladies’ Challenge Plate at the 2013 Henley Royal Regatta – the first Henley final a Northeastern crew had competed in during the last 40 years.

Kara Kohler – California
Won gold in the varsity eight at the 2013 NCAA Championships. Earned first-team All America honors. Competed in the women’s quadruple sculls at both the 2013 World Rowing Championships and the 2013 Samsung World Rowing Cup in Lucerne.
