The Crew Classic is excited to have both the US and CAN national teams in town as they are well down the road on the way to Rio. We are going to utilize a different format with the athletes and row shorter races, 750m and 500m so more races can be viewed by the fans. The teams will race 4-, 4x, and 8+. The quad is a first time event at the Crew Classic.
The schedule for the National Team racing is as follows:
- 10:44 AM - Men's Quad, National Team Exhibition
- 10:52 AM - Men's four, US vs. Canada
- 2:56 PM - US and Canadian men race in eights in combination lineups
- 3:04 PM - US Canadian men’s four race the world champion K4 kayak team from the Czech Republic in a 500-meter dash event.

Twenty four athletes will represent the US including four from the Lightweight team. The team is comprised of Olympic team veterans as well as recent collegiate graduates who are making their first foray onto International scene.

Canadian Team Overview
- The Canadian team competing at the SDCC ( Men's 4- and Men's 4x) will be two of the boats Rowing Canada will attempt to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
- Three of the four athletes in the M4- to race at the SDCC competed in the Men's 8+ at the 2012 Olympic Games, winning a silver medal. All three of these athletes, Will Crothers, Rob Gibson, and Conlin McCabe are graduates of the University of Washington.
- Will Dean, three seat in the M4x to compete at the SDCC, rowed in the 2012 Olympic Games in the Canadian M4-. Will is a graduate of Cal-Berkely.
- Pascal Lussier and Andrew Stewart-Jones, who will compete in the M4x at the SDCC are graduates of Rowing Canada's Row to Podium program designed to identify and develop future Olympic athletes for the Canadian Rowing Team.
