As you might imagine 25K spectators, 4K competitors and 500 volunteers makes for some interesting logistics… if you have been before you know the drill, if not, here’s everything that you need to know.
The best place to start is the FAQs page, it’s a quick overview of the regatta and packed with useful information in your planning, which includes the address for your GPS, what to expect, and how to map out your day.
San Diego Crew Classic Visitor Info and FAQs
Parking is always tight. There is one lot dedicated to competitors and two for spectators, volunteer, and officials. There is also a satellite parking lot with a shuttle service that runs all day long. The two lots located at the course are pay to play and the satellite lot is free. There is also controlled traffic flow with plenty of signage; please be sure to mind all security personnel and volunteers as they are there for your safety. For more details visit: Public Parking and Shuttle Information
For Coaches & Riggers, please refer to the following for trailer parking: Trailer Parking and Launching.
Coaches & Competitors:
Please refer to this map of Mission Bay for the traffic pattern on the water and be sure to follow the direction of all the safety officials on the water; its everyone's job to insure that the regatta is safe.
Also please note that large tour buses are no longer allowed to park in the competitor’s lot; the bus entrance is from the southernmost entrance at Crown Point Drive on to Northbound Corona Oriente only. The exit is at Moorland, after unloading at Moorland and Corona Oriente. The bus route must be adhered to strictly to ensure the safety of all involved.
The Schedule is now live at: San Diego Crew Classic 2015 Schedule. The first thing you might notice is that we have reduced the centers between races to 8 minutes; please be mindful of your race starting time and leave yourself plenty of time to get to the start. Also, we don't expect any changes at this point, but Mother Nature is not in our control so please continue to monitor the schedule for any changes.
Results, once they are made official are available at: Crew Classic Results.
Live Streaming is available on both Saturday and Sunday and details can be found at the following link: Crew Classic Live Video Streaming.
The Newcomers section on the FAQs page gives a good overview of what to expect at the course, there is a jumbotron so you can watch every race start to finish, and there are also plenty of food vendors and rowing specific vendors for race day schwag.
