Summer may seem a long ways away as you step out into the bitter cold this morning, but summer will be here before you know it. As a coach, that means summer regattas are just around the corner and working out the logistics for those races will take on a greater priority with each passing day!
One logistical challenge that coaches often face is how to keep track of all of their athlete’s IDs while they race. There are those certain summer regattas that require IDs on the dock. You either have to rely on the athletes to keep track of their ID on the water or you have to hang on to everyone’s ID while they row. Too many things can go wrong in either situation! To combat this problem, Matt Hopkins provides us with this week’s simple, yet effective coaching hack. The ID Keychain!
The keychain is very simple! Make copies of the athletes IDs on a color photocopier, laminate them, and keep them on a keychain in your pocket. You no longer have worry about keeping track of your athlete’s actual licenses, passports and ID cards while they are racing! Best of all, no more forgotten IDs and a little peace of mind!
