Virginia Men’s Rowing and Rivanna Rowing Club are offering a unique joint-venture opportunity!
- Are you interested in taking your coaching to the next level?
- Are you willing to learn a lot, work hard and pay attention?
- Do you mind getting paid for that?
The qualified candidate/coach will start September 2019 and coach/learn/work primarily with the Virginia Men’s Rowing program (training, going to races) as well as daily study and mentoring with head coach Frank Biller and associate head coach Alan Kush.
Additionally, during fall, winter and spring the candidate/coach will run several practices per week (on water and land) with the Rivanna Rowing Club (RRC) Masters group and act as the head coach of RRC.
After the collegiate season at the end of May, the candidate/coach will organize, coach and direct all of RRC’s summer programs and seasonal assistant coaches, including training, logistics and racing.
The contract will end after the successful completion of RRC’s Summer programs at the end of August 2020.
This is an incredible opportunity for somebody who really wants to learn and acquire practical coaching experience, and set him/herself up for a future in coaching.
Compensation for the contract period will include up to $16,000/year plus possible contributions toward health insurance and other benefits. Affordable housing and additional part-time work are potentially available in the Charlottesville area.
The Virginia Rowing Association is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage women and underrepresented minority applicants to apply. Diversity is our strength; being a “men’s team” does not mean “men only”.
If interested, please email us and succinctly state your interest and qualifications, as well as any initial questions. Your interest will be treated in confidence.
